Yes, some girls do find it "hot" to look like Victoria Beckham or Lindsay Lohan. Those would be the "stars" of today. That's not what I was getting at though. It wasn't the media who told us that overweight people are ugly, it's in human instinct to like leaner people. Yeah, maybe there was a time when artists drew only fat ladies, but it wasn't the only period in art. Look at the Ancient Greeks art and the rest of the old world's art. Media was created long afterwards and it didn't just go and tell people what is pretty and what is not. Besides, I am sure that many people who don't even watch the TV or stay in touch with any of the trends still prefer lean people of opposite sex.
Okay, okay, if those diseases really prevent you from training anything (by the sound of it they do), then I am sorry for (slightly) pushing it. Although you never said it was hard, you kind of meant it by saying that you've realized the only benefit from exercising you'd get is more confidence. That insinuates your opinion that you couldn't do it, most likely because it was too hard. In any case, you don't even have to exercise to lose fat, you can do it by dieting alone (healthy, balanced diet that's pretty easy to handle with a decent amount of calories). I don't believe in that "bitchy nonsense" either - you can be fat and healthy and live for a 100 years (unless you eat a lot of junk food). Just so you know, all that I've said in that other post wasn't directed at you exclusively, I was proving some of my points. BTW, looking at your pics I can say that you're definitely not fat enough for it to endanger your health. I never said you weren't happy the way you are. You keep thinking people are trying to convince you to train and whatnot - you kind of provoke it by saying how poor the life of a fat person is, and I just happen to have been in that same position and dealt with it, so it's hard for me to just keep my mouth shut. Nothing meant to offend or annoy you. |

Well I read what you guys had to say and i'm just going to give my short reason of why P.E is good/necessary course in schools. P.E introduces students to sports and exercise. When a young kid plays a sport or athletic game in gym they may go home and decide they want to play that with their friends. That there is exercise. Schools aren't forcing "fat" people to become skinny they are encouraging them to be healthy. When your overweight your most likely not health and there for are going to have health problems. Schools are trying to help prevent this from happening. At my school we have to take a mandatory 3 years of gym(half semester) and during each gym course you learn about health. We learn about things from being over weight to STDs. So over all i see what i learn from P.E in school is more of guidelines/information on how to live a health life. All their trying to do is keep us healthy. Does the fact of me being in shape alter my interpretation my perception of what the school is teaching me? Maybe it does, because i'm actually listening to what they have to say and not thinking "they're just trying to make me skinny" So much for my short post |

SS3: I could train if I wanted, I'd have to take a bunch of annoying precautions that I REALLY prefer not doing but I could if I wanted. Yeah, it can be pretty bad but you learn to adjust. |

The reason for P.E. at school is so that children get their "daily exercise" more so than when you have a little break or lunch. Being overweight isnt a problem for anyone else but maybe to the actual overweight person because it tends to be unhealthy. Not saying that: If you're overweight you'll die sooner but you have more chances of shorting your lifespan... .. But end of the day as long as you're happy I say; Live your life. |

As I said before nothing against overweight people and if they want to be overweight then well thats none of my business. However I do think that here in America more and more people are getting overweight, and no not all of them are because they were born with some kind of syndrome or anything. A LOT are out of pure laziness and eating habits. Believe it or not whats ironic, its that in my older school I actually heard someone saying Fat people are the coolest people thats why I'm fat. Now Im not saying overweight people aren't cool, Im just saying thats the dumbest reason ever to go overweight :/ |
